Rustic or knotty alder keepsake chest with inner sliding removable tray Overhanging lid on three sides to store chest at the end of a bed or against a wall. Inner removable alder tray with through dovetail joinery to store small items in the hope chest. Friction lid supports, sold brass hinges, brass full mortise chest lock. Rustic Western alder blanket chest with aged antiqued hardware. Lid supports keep lid from slamming closed. Solid brass hinges aged using brass darkening solution acid. Double thick edge is cut and folded over to create a bookmatch on the ends. Durable time tested dovetail joinery on the hope chest and the inner tray.
